Perfect getaway for those looking for a peaceful and relaxing vacation close to the sea away from anything that’s remotely commercial or crowded. Those who have a penchant for all things heritage will also love this place. Great for couples or a small group of friends/ family.

What we love

  • This heritage bungalow goes back all the way to the 17th century when the region was a Danish settlement. The bungalow is built in traditional Tamil architectural style with a central courtyard, red tiled roofs, intricately carved pillars and interesting antique wooden furniture. This place is sure to take you back in time!
  • Listening to the crashing of the waves, watching the most gorgeous sunsets and listening to the gentle murmur of the wind - this heritage bungalow is bound to rejuvenate your six senses!
  • The rooms, named after temple towns of Tamil Nadu, are spacious, are furnished carefully to retain the splendour of the past. The rooms on the ground floor provide easy and quick access to the garden while those on the first floor lead up to the balcony.

What to know

  • Breakfast is served within the heritage bungalow but if you’d like to have lunch or dinner, you’ll need to walk 2 minutes away to the other larger property.
  • The newly built swimming pool in the backyard is a welcome addition to this heritage bungalow. Take a dip in it after a walk through the village or a stroll on the sea.
  • Notice the interesting artefacts and paintings from the past that hang on the walls or rest on the tables. Each little thing has a story waiting to be heard.
  • This is a place for peaceful walks on the beach, relaxed afternoons on the balcony, the comfort of knowing that there is only one place to eat at and star gazing from the lawns, Unlike other vacation spots where tourists usually surround you, this place will have more locals around you!

Dansborg Fort

The 400 year old Dansborg Fort, rests majestically on the shores of Bay of Bengal. Back in the 17th century, the fort served as the base of the Danish settlement in the region. Today, the it’s been converted into a museum. Over the weekends, the locals swing by to enjoy the refreshing sea breeze and other simple things in life - a cone of icecream or balloons for their kids.
