What we love

  • This private mansion is over 250 years old. Restoration of this beautiful haveli has been done with the highest level of aesthetics and detail while striking the perfect balance between new and old.
  • Each of the beautifully designed rooms has an alcove which make for a beautiful relaxing area. Some of the alcoves have small miniature windows that overlook the lanes of Udaipur, a rather charming sight through the day!
  • The haveli has a fabulous rooftop restaurant that offers not only the most delicious food served with alot of love but also sweeping views of the city. Regardless of the time of day, it’s bliss to just sit on this terrace to watch the drama of the sky and the simple local sights.

What to know

  • The haveli has been built in traditional architectural style with a courtyard in the center of the mansion. The courtyard was used as a meeting place for special occasions. The men would be at the ground level and the women would watch from the verandahs on higher levels, ensuring the men couldn’t see the women!
  • The haveli is located in a narrow lane where sometimes it may be tough for cars to enter.
  • The internet connectivity could be a tad weak in a few spots.
  • There is an interesting art gallery within the Haveli. Make sure you stop by to have a look at the work of the artists.

Local Scenes of Udaipur

A woman washes clothes in the waters of the lake, a man finds his spot to light the chillum, another welcomes the entrigued tourist as he walks past his colourful shop, another carves out intricate structures from stone and yet another swirls his moustache and wonders when it’ll grow longer. The local sights of Udaipur can keep you engaged until your eyes tire.

Graphiti on the walls

Colourful graphiti adorn the walls of Udaipur city. Angry plump fish, a little elephant pooing and a strange looking bird smirking. Possibly created by artists who chose the streets as their own gallery. Look carefully and you could very often understand the culture of a place through these works that aren’t confined by anything but the artists’ imagination.

Food Club Restaurant

Food Club restaurant is a beautiful naturally decorated lake side restaurant with superior levels of hospitality. A great place to spend a quiet afternoon or smoke some hookah once the sun has set. Mixed views on the food itself but we still recommend this restaurant for its location, service and hookah!
