Those looking to stay in the heart of the French Quarters in Pondicherry will love this boutique hotel in Pondicherry. It’s perfect for couples or a small group of friends/ family looking for a tranquil and serene place to stay at.

What we love

  • Nestled in the heart of the French Quarters, sits a beautiful heritage colonial boutique hotel on pebbled courtyards and paths, shaded by tropical green trees and colourful flowering plants. The quaint and elegant setting is bound to transport you to a bygone era.
  • We absolutely loved the interiors that have been done up so tastefully keeping the original essence alive while blending in pops of modern-vintage decor. The interiors have soft tones punctuated with bright hued walls that softened beautifully through the lights of the well places lamps.
  • Each bedroom in this boutique hotel is different, both in style and in what it has to offer. They’re available as single or double, suites with or without sitting area, opening up to a garden or terrace, some more functional while others luxury oriented. Regardless of which one you choose, you’ll be pleasantly surprised of the comfort level each has to offer.
  • The courtyard, verandah and terrace areas are the best place to curl up with a book while sipping on a refreshing beverage. During the day, soak in the warmth of the sun and at night, close your eyes, and feel the sea breeze brush against your face. Ah, the little joys of life!
  • For those who’d like to be close to the sea or those searching for spiritual enlightenment and peace, both the main promenade that runs along the sea as well as Aurobindo Ashram are within walking distance.

What to know

  • You’re likely to find traveling souls from across the world during your stay here. You’ll certainly get to mingle with people who share your passion and interest in history, culture, architecture and design. Enjoy a hot cup of tea while your exchange stories with them at the delightful verandah and courtyard spaces.
  • Feline lovers will be delighted by the cats that have made this place their home. They’ll certainly say hello to you while you’re out stretching your legs at the verandah, courtyard and garden areas and also give you company when you’re enjoying an al fresco breakfast!
  • The rooms do not have television facilities, thus drama lovers may have to withdraw from their daily soaps. WiFi is available but maybe patchy at times. However, many guests take advantage of this and indulge in lively debates and board games! Not to mention that it helps maintain the tranquility and serenity of the place.
  • The owners are extremely friendly and the staff equally hospitable and warm. Together, they’ll accommodate and attend to your needs and ensure you have a very smooth and comfortable stay.
  • The garden has a charming green cover attracting not just guests but also creepy crawlies and mosquitoes. You may want to keep a repellant handy.
  • The boutique hotel currently does not serve lunch/ dinner in-house. They’re upgrading and this facility should be up soon. Until then, there are a delightful number of bakeries, cafes, restaurants within walking distance - you can literally sniff your way through - where you can enjoy very well made meals.
