People looking for a luxurious stay in the forest will love this place. Fantastic for couples who are looking for privacy or groups looking for a great place to stay!

What we love

  • These state of the art villas are absolutely breathtaking and have been inspired by traditional Gond architecture! Each villa opens out to a large verandah with forest views and also has a extremely modern yet earthy eco bathroom. It’s incredible how this place has been created using recycled & waste wood, local stone, terracotta tiles and mud.
  • The common areas, lounge, bar, dining area, have been constructed in a traditional rustic style and furnished with very interesting local tribal artifacts.
  • The infinity pool is set between the fragrant mahua trees and is a great place to relax post the safaris in the park.
  • During the chilly winter months in the forest, this lodge comes alive with its lovely outdoor barbeque set ups or private bush dinners that are organized for couples looking to spend some time alone

What to know

  • Phone connectivity is a little weak. You will need to find spots where the signal strength on your phone is relatively good.
  • The food served here is finger licking good! Whether it’s the starter or a main course dish or even dessert, they do justice to everything and anything they serve.
  • Carry a good pair of walking shoes, sunglasses, hats and anything else that you may need during the safari.
  • The market is far, therefore pack well and make sure you have whatever you might require during your stay in the forest.

Kanha National Park

Kanha Tiger Reserve is located in the Maikal Hills of the Satpuras. The lush green sal and bamboo forests, grassy meadows and ravines of Kanha provided inspiration to Rudyard Kipling for his famous novel The Jungle Book.

Kanha is virtually a tiger land, with several tigresses occupying traditionally famous natal areas. Several pockets of high density areas lead to competition amongst tigers for food and space with several signs indicating their presence.

The most precious animal of Kanha is the Central Indian Barasingha also called the swamp deer. The other common animals found in the reserve are leopard, Spotted deer, Sambar, Wild pigs, Grey langur and more than 300 species of birds.

Best Season - November to April

Tribal Village Walk

The tribal villages that surround the lush green forests will leave you amazed. Almost all the mud huts are painted blue as the tribes believe in just Lord Shiva, the God who consumed poison that turned his throat blue.

The villages are immaculately clean and beautiful as are the people who reside in them. Each tribe has a unique tattoo design that can be seen on every member typically on the head, arms and legs.

Take a guided walk down any one of these villages and we assure you, it’ll leave a tattoo on your mind as well. Both men and women leave for work early on in the day, so do rise and shine early if you want to have a quick chat with them!

Birdwatching in Madhya Pradesh

Indian Roller. Black Francolin. Painted Francolin. Rain Quail. Blue Breasted Quail. Little Egret. Darters. Stork-billed Kingfisher. Oriental White-eye. Indian Robin. Grey Wagtail. White-throated Kingfisher. And the list goes on…watch small birds, big birds, colourful birds as they fly around from one place to another. Feast for the eyes and senses to say the very least.
