This resort is the antidote you seek, if the routine life in the city has choked your senses! It’s the perfect getaway in Thekkady for couples or a group of people. Learn about a variety of spices while you wander through the lush greens that surround the resort.

What we love

  • Check-ins at the resort aren’t at a reception desk but out in the lawns with a healthy herbal brew where you can choose the herbs yourself!
  • The thatched roof cottages are made of elephant grass with basic coir mats on bare stone floors. The furnishing is elegant and mostly done using natural materials and local woodcraft.
  • Each cottage is an independent villa of sorts with its own little patio where one can enjoy the freshness of the air
  • Activities are scheduled through the day to allow you to discover the gorgeousness of the region - cooking workshops, video tours or the wildlife, hand made paper making sessions, tour of the organic garden, cultural performances in the evening etc

What to know

  • The weather ensures the rooms are naturally air-conditioned. You may feel the heat in the peak summer months of April, May & June
  • The sound of bird calls replace the noise of television sets. You may have to record those weekly shows that you just can’t miss!
  • Make sure you carry a comfortable pair of walking shoes as the resort is spread over acres of green
  • This resort may be a bit tough for the differently abled

Bamboo Rafting

Traverse the rich Periyar forests from dawn to dusk accompanied by guides & armed guards. Meet the interesting creatures of the region - tigers, elephants, barking deer, leopards and foxes! The birds and monkeys may feel like the gatekeepers of the other animals! There’s a little trek that will lead you up to the bamboo raft and the rafting thereon will go on for about 3 hours.

Smell that Vanilla

Vanilla! This is what gets you vanilla ice-cream, vanilla essence and vanilla scents! Vanilla is hand pollinated. It’s natural pollinator (a bee) is found mostly in Mexico. A 12 year old boy discovered hand pollination by accident and that’s how you get all your vanilla stuff in India.

Do watch vanilla plantation/ pollination in your next trip to Kerala :)

Black gold of the past

This spice put India on the world map and made many figure out a route to India! It was so valuable that even rent could be paid using peppercorns, giving rise to a term called “peppercorn rent”. Don’t you wish you could still do that? :)

This spice is frequently used to improve digestion other than seasoning all that exotic food ofcourse.

Jatropha Plant - Search for it!

So we’ve all blown bubbles by dipping those plastic ring sticks into a bottle of soapy water but have you ever blown bubbles from a plant?! Nature really is full of little surprises! Find a Jatropha plant in Kerala and you could be blowing bubbles from a leaf. Apparently, this plant was also cited as one of the best candidate for future biodiesel production by Goldman Sachs.
