Take a real vacation by going live with a choice of zero channels and swap the widescreen spectacle with that of the Malabari sunset! Incredible place for those looking to completely disconnect for a few days.

What we love

  • Each room is a thatched villa with an open air bathroom, private sit-out and all amenities required on a real vacation! There are no televisions and internet connectivity is limited.
  • Pick your own vegetables and try your hand at cooking at the farm kitchen amidst the organic vegetable garden! It’s great fun and you can make alot of new friends during this communal style dining.
  • Marari is a nature lover’s paradise! 97 species of butterflies, 350 species of endemic plants, 3 varieties of turtles, 10 kinds of frogs and let’s not even get started on the birds! Oh, while taking a stroll on the beach watch out for the runner birds that change colour from grey to red!
  • You must go on the little eco tour and spend some time to see how all creatures of nature are one here.

What to know

  • There are a host of activities to keep you entertained within the resort - yoga, tennis, beach volleyball, bar on the beach, board games, cycling, visit to the butterfly garden, village walk, visit to the bio gas and sewage treatment plant, an ecology interpretation center, instrumental music lessons etc etc etc!
  • It can get seriously hot and humid during the summer months. Be prepared to take a shower every couple of hours. Place is a bliss however, if you’re ok with the heat.
  • Marari beach is away from the maddening crowd and distant from the world of trendy hotspots and beach raves. Alone time, couple time, family time or friend time - this is place!
  • If you’re a non veg foodie, do not miss eating at the beach grill that serves only the fresh catch of the day by the beach from October to April.

Into the backwaters of Kerala

Cruise on the secluded backwaters in houseboats converted from rice boats. Take a glimpse into the lives of the locals - children splashing and swimming in the waters, women washing clothes, men sitting on the banks of the canals and fishing. The experience is enchanting and extremely peaceful to say the very least.

Black gold of the past

This spice put India on the world map and made many figure out a route to India! It was so valuable that even rent could be paid using peppercorns, giving rise to a term called “peppercorn rent”. Don’t you wish you could still do that? :)

This spice is frequently used to improve digestion other than seasoning all that exotic food ofcourse.
