Those seeking peace, tranquility and an authentic Kerala experience with fishing in your own fish farm, visiting the 1400 year old church, enjoying communal meals or just sitting outside your room and watching the houseboats go by. An excellent place for a couple, family or even a group of friends.

What we love

  • Totally water-locked, this lovely property can only be reached by boat. It’s no wonder then that this is often called the Venice of the East! Observe the locals commute in rice boats; this is not morning traffic as you know it!
  • Air-conditioned rooms are fitted with teak panelling, antique doors and open-air bathrooms. Each room also has a little sit-out facing the backwaters and the common lawn. This is the perfect spot to read a book while sipping your tea.
  • The outdoor sofas by the water’s edge, where you can relax and watch the world go by.
  • We especially love the timber room (once a rice store) with it luxurious raised bed. If available, book this one!

What to know

  • Around ten acres of haven ensure you have plenty to do during your stay. Bird watching, fishing, rowing, swimming, massage, toddy tapping (an expert will show you how), and entertainment from the locals are all options.
  • As the villa is water-locked, you will need a boat to explore other regions and areas.
  • Authentic homemade food is whipped up with fresh ingredients from the farm. If there’s something specific you desire or require, just let them know.

Black gold of the past

This spice put India on the world map and made many figure out a route to India! It was so valuable that even rent could be paid using peppercorns, giving rise to a term called “peppercorn rent”. Don’t you wish you could still do that? :)

This spice is frequently used to improve digestion other than seasoning all that exotic food ofcourse.

Into the backwaters of Kerala

Cruise on the secluded backwaters in houseboats converted from rice boats. Take a glimpse into the lives of the locals - children splashing and swimming in the waters, women washing clothes, men sitting on the banks of the canals and fishing. The experience is enchanting and extremely peaceful to say the very least.
