People looking for a Portuguese villa close to the beach in Norh Goa will love this place! It’s a fantastic base from where you can visit some of the best restaurants of Goa such as Bomras, J&A’s Little Italy, Le Poisson Rouge, Thalassa and many more. The beach is just 10 minutes away.

What we love

  • The minute you walk in, you’ll fall in love with this gorgeous Portuguese villa and wonder why you hadn’t chanced upon it earlier! The architecture is from back in the day but has been re-stored blending in the heritage with the modern perfectly.
  • A traditional Portuguese stairway leads up to the courtyard surrounded by greens and little cosy sitting areas, verandahs and rotundas that are perfect for some lounging around.
  • Regardless of which room you pick, you’ll love it! Each one has been done with high level of taste and aesthetic. The rooms are air-conditioned and come with fabulous mosaic tiled bathrooms. We even fell in love with the light fixtures in the room! Sigh, we already want to go back here!

What to know

  • You must have the traditional Goan preparations here! They’re delicious! Do notify the staff well in advance incase you’re having lunch or dinner in the villa. They believe in serving fresh food and don’t stock up!
  • This is truly a little hideaway :) Good to have a bike or a car to move around. May be very dark to walk around at night.
  • Don’t think much! Go ahead and book this already! This place is great value for money!

Anjuna Flea Market

On Wednesdays from 8am to 7pm

Months: October to May

The market started in the 1970s when the hippies who had descended on the land of Goa from the Western world wished to stay longer but couldn’t afford to do so. They began bartering and then eventually selling their goodies in exchange of money and thus began the famous Anjuna Flea Market.

Saunter in looking for a bargain but walk out with an experience gained. Get past the local vendors, spot the artist and designer shops and find that bargain - pixie shoes, cosmic jewelry, red leather jackets, abstract art or even miniature stringed instruments! Haggle hard and be prepared for the onslaught! The market is a visual spectacle that must not be missed!
