GREAT FOR

Those who’d like to be close to the beach while staying in a luxurious and fully serviced villa that comes with it’s own pool will love this villa. Great for a group of 8 to 10 people.

What we love

  • Located down a quiet neighbourhood in the countryside of Anjuna village, is this stately open style four bedroom villa with a private pool in the central courtyard. The red tiled roofing, corridor with arched openings, shuttered doors and latticed walls lend a vintage Portuguese vibe to the villa, although this one’s as new as a bride!
  • The grand living and dining area that run the length of the villa have the best architectural elements from the past and present - while the ceilings are high and there are several windows and doors that allow natural light in, the interiors bring you back to the present day with customised chevron flooring, patchwork sofa placed along solid ones, distressed wooden furniture and white wicker chairs. Mod-cons such as air-conditioners, television and iPhone docking station are fitted to provide luxury creature comforts in these beautiful spaces.
  • The villa has a four uniquely styled bedrooms - three on the ground level and the fourth on the first. Each has been furnished with antique or distressed wooden furniture, embellished with quirky artefacts and wall paintings and have warm yellow lamps that create the perfect ambiance. The master suite on the first level is special. Not only is it the most spacious of all rooms, but also this one comes with a four poster bed, hand crafted flooring that matches the colour scheme of the room and has two cosy romantic railed balconies that overlook the swimming pool!

What to know

  • The well sized swimming pool situated at the central courtyard takes centre stage! All living areas, bedrooms and the verandahs lead you here. The pool is large enough for serious swimmers, while the greens all around makes the setting gorgeous for those looking to soak in the magic of the tropics while in or out of the pool. Loungers with towels are placed by the poolside and there’s also a cushioned seating for those who prefer to enjoy their drinks in the shade.
  • While you do have a traditional indoor dining area, the alfresco dining set up in the backyard garden under a pergola taken over by vines and surrounded by thickets of birds of paradise plants, is just the most wonderful place for anytime meals under the sun!
  • Breakfast is included in the tariff. However, for lunch and dinner, you could either order in a cuisine of your choice from one of the several restaurants in the neighbourhood or hire the expert services of a speciality chef at an additional charge.
  • You’ll be a few minutes drive away from some of Goa’s best beaches, celebrity style lounges, restaurants with postcard perfect views of the coastline and markets that define the notion of one world. The location just couldn’t be more perfect.

Anjuna Flea Market

On Wednesdays from 8am to 7pm

Months: October to May

The market started in the 1970s when the hippies who had descended on the land of Goa from the Western world wished to stay longer but couldn’t afford to do so. They began bartering and then eventually selling their goodies in exchange of money and thus began the famous Anjuna Flea Market.

Saunter in looking for a bargain but walk out with an experience gained. Get past the local vendors, spot the artist and designer shops and find that bargain - pixie shoes, cosmic jewelry, red leather jackets, abstract art or even miniature stringed instruments! Haggle hard and be prepared for the onslaught! The market is a visual spectacle that must not be missed!
