Catching your breath surrounded by the peace and quiet of a tropical oasis, while still being close to the vibrant culture of Ubud. As the property is made up of two independent villas, this is the perfect location for an extended family vacation as well as milestone celebrations.

What we love

  • The private estate, surrounded by lush rainforests and cascading rice paddies, is blessed with a pristine location in central Bali. Get ready for a peaceful and relaxing stay here with the soothing sounds of the river echoing in the background and the elevated crests of volcanoes in the distance.
  • The estate is made of up two villas, constructed in style similar to that of a thatched shed, often found in the forests and rice fields of Bali, serving as a shelter spot for the farmers. Both villas come with two elegant bedrooms featuring earthy shades and pure white linen. Our favourite part, though, might just be the jaw-dropping tropical views visible through the floor-to- ceiling windows.
  • The stunning bathrooms are an event onto themselves. The chic design dominated by light colours and a delicious swoon of natural light pouring in through the windows create the perfect setting for climbing into the immense bathtub and simply feeling the rest of the world melt away.
  • The sprawling estate cocooned in the midst of manicured gardens, boasts not just of one but two immaculate infinity pools, the ultimate tonic after a day out in the sun. One of the pools is perched outside, surrounded by a generous sundeck, while the other one runs through one of the villas and works as a glamorous break between the living and entertainment areas.
  • Originally designed as the private estate of a writer, the beautiful glass enclave houses a library, offering the perfect hideaway on a rainy day.

What to know

  • The streets of central Ubud, a short ride away from the villa, offer a whole world of local Balinese culture, entertainment and brilliant dining options serving cuisine from around the world. If you start to feel some holiday weight catching on, treat yourself to a plate of gado-gado, an Indonesian salad featuring steamed vegetables and tofu topped off with a dollop of delicious peanut sauce. Wash it all down with a young coconut, naturally enjoyed straight from the husk.
  • The state-of- the-art kitchen offers the perfect excuse for having an epic dinner party in the villa’s beautiful open-air dining area, set against the luscious backdrop of Bali’s paradise-like nature. The foodies could make a trip to the local market with the chef, picking their own vegetables and meat, returning to the villa to learn and cook local Indonesian preparations!
  • Wondering through the neighbouring village might feel like taking a step back in time with only the daily rituals of indigenous Balinese spirituality marking the passage of time. Watch farmers go about their daily routine while wearing the conical bamboo straw hat, meant to protect their skin from the fierce tropical sun. Inside the walls of the estate, however, you’ll be treated to a whole smorgasbord of modern entertainment. Stretch out on the plush sofa and flick through the channels of the flat-screen TV or pop in a DVD and stay connected to those back home through the property’s free Internet connection.
  • The media room at one of the villas also doubles up as a fifth bedroom, comfortably accommodating upto 10 adults and a few kids in all.
