Nature lovers in search for a quiet, magical and exotic tropical seaside resort. Perfect for those who wish to celebrate their romance or quality time in the company of their friends and family. The resort also makes for a fantastic wedding destination!

What we love

  • Set amidst tropical forests and within walking distance to the pristine Radhanagar beach, famed for its palm fringed white shores kissed by crystal clear waters, the location of this hideaway is breathtakingly heavenly! Enter an oasis of serenity in a setting that’s truly exotic, surrendering your being to the powerful wonders of nature!
  • Each room is an independent cottage built using eco-friendly material that blends in beautifully with the surroundings. The Andaman Villa, made of timber, comes with a romantic king sized bed from where you can soak in the flora and fauna of the tropical forest through the floor to ceiling windows, while the villa balcony is perfect for enjoying a cup of tea or hours of reading. The Nicobari Cottage, with balcony, offers a more rustic feel with its bamboo finish. The tented cottages, offer basic accommodation at budgeted rates, though come with en-suite bathrooms and sitting spaces, just like the other accommodation types.
  • With dishes prepared from the fresh catch of the day, dining here will be a feast for the non-vegetarians! Try the seafood delights prepared in authentic local curries.
  • Indulge in rejuvenating massages, detoxification programs meant to improve your mental health and a range of beautification treatments at the beautiful spa at the property.

What to know

  • Few places in the world are still completely disconnected and Havelock Island is one such place! Forget what’s happening outside the island – there is no WiFi, no mobile connectivity and no television network either. That’s right. After all, it isn’t everyday one gets to sleep having watched a sky full of stars or wake up and walk bare feet on sandy white beaches.
  • The Andaman experience is incomplete without snorkeling and diving – race with a school of fish, past a kaleidoscope of coral reefs and deadly stingrays and experience the magnificent under-water world! If due to some reason, you can’t go diving or snorkeling, you could go fishing on a boat for some mackerel or go kayaking into the sea.
  • The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are home to a variety of tribal communities who are still in very primitive stages of evolution. For their safety, the Government strictly prohibits contact and communication with them, and imposes severe penalties for those try without permission. Stay clear off the tribes if you fear the safety of your life.
  • With just a few ATMs on the island, we highly recommend carrying sufficient cash for purchases. Plastic cards will not work here. Medical services are as good as non-existent as well. Make sure you carry all that you need to keep you going!

Diving & Snorkelling

If there is only one thing you can do in the Andamans, make sure it is diving! As beautiful as the terrestrial aspects of the Andaman Islands are, a world of adventure awaits underwater. The coral reef ecosystem of the Andaman’s is largely protected, however opportunities to discover it first-hand are plenty. There are several dive operators, including Dive Andamans or Dive India, to help you navigate through these rain forests of the oceans.

Stay still for a little while down there and listen for the characteristic tapping of Parrot fish breaking down the calcium carbonate outer coating of the coral to feed on the inner fleshy zooplankton. The underwater world is so much louder than you can imagine! Keep an eye out for the brightly decorated nudibranch - molluscs armed with a dizzying array of defences from stinging cells and camouflage to toxins, to keep predators at bay.

No matter how many dives you do in the Andamans, you will also encounter something you have never seen before! If your adventures in the Andamans motivate you to partake in marine conservation, give ANET (Andamans and Nicobar Islands Environmental Team) a shout out; they welcome volunteers to contribute in biodiversity conservation efforts.

Wandoor Marine National Park

Take a walk down Wandoor beach to admire the gigantic drift wood structures, natural art installations that are actually remnants from the 2004 tsunami, lining the shore. Wandoor is also the gateway to the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, where a world of coral reefs, lagoons, turtle nesting areas, wait to be discovered.

Tourists are allowed only on Jolly Buoy (open Nov to May) and Redskin islands (open May to Nov) and while you’re on your little tour, don’t be surprised to find a playful dolphins or a school of fish chase you around!

Fair warning, both islands are popular tourist destinations and are therefore can get extremely crowded during peak holiday season.
