GREAT FOR

This resort is great for those who’d like an indulgent and luxurious wildlife experience. Great for couples or a small group of family/ friends as well as avid wild-lifers.

What we love

  • Drive along the babbling river of Pench with refreshing views of teak, mahua and bamboo trees, into a forest put on the world map by Rudyard Kipling with his ‘The Jungle Book’, to experience and be part of a gorgeous landscape in the wild.
  • You can’t help but fall in love with the rooms, each an independent rustic yet luxurious cottage, that comes with a lavish bathroom with an outdoor shower area and relaxing sit out spaces where you can listen to the birds chirping away. Couples and the adventurous will love the romantic machaan, a raised platform just above the main bedroom, that comes with a comfortable netted bed offering uninterrupted views of the forest! The machaan also has a hookah or a water pipe just incase you’d like to smoke some while there. We recommend sleeping in the machaan instead of your bedroom for a thrilling experience in the jungle - watch the twinkling stars, hear the calls of the wild, listen to the rustling of the leaves and be awakened by the birds. Quite the perfect life isn’t it?
  • The safaris into the park are a thrilling experience with knowledgable and extremely well trained guides who’ll tell you stories right through the way while looking out for the elusive tiger and the shy leopard. You could either go on a four wheel drive or hop on to the back of an elephant. Regardless of which one you opt for, the experience is bound to be exhilarating and one which leaves a mark on your memory.

What to know

  • Opt for the safaris in the gypsy and not in the canter. The canters are huge diesel powered vehicles that take as many as 15 to 20 people together. Given the sound emitted from the vehicle and the chattering of the people on it, we feel it always drives and scares the animals away defeating the purpose of a safari in the jungle.
  • Forget the conventional dining areas - meals are given the adventurous spin as well with set ups by the river, or amidst the bushes, or by the pool, or even in the privacy and comfort of your own bungalow. Get surprised by the local delectable preparations, each dish explained by the chef. For those of you who’d like to nurture the chef within, there’s an interactive cooking session as well where you can learn how the dishes are prepared and make them at home.
  • You will be in the midst of the jungle and it’s creatures. Fret not if an insect enters your room and shares your space with you.
  • We recommend carrying a sturdy pair of shoes, a hat, sunglasses, sun tan lotion and binoculars for a smooth and comfortable experience in the wild.
  • Couples will love the candle lit dinner set up under the huge Mahua tree. The ambience is incredibly romantic!
