GREAT FOR

Those looking for the highest levels of luxury will love this place! This place will pamper you like no other and leave you wanting for more. The perfect place for honeymooners as well as those looking to celebrate a special occasion with their loved one.

What we love

  • The cottages are pure indulgence in the middle of the forest! Each cottage has a luxurious living area with a LCD TV, DVD player, Tata Sky connection, Lavazza coffee maker, its own powder room and books on wildlife. The beautiful rooms with four-poster beds lead up to the private sit out deck that overlooks the jungles beyond.
  • Moving on to the bathroom, this space will feel like a cottage in itself with intricate Gond artworks that adorn the walls and state of the art amenities. It has a luxurious bathtub smack in the middle; with an electric fireplace to keep you warm during those cold winter nights. There’s also a lovely outdoor bathtub and shower area, a dressing room of sorts and of course, the other usual suspects found in this space. Pure indulgence to say the very least!
  • You will not hear any other sounds other than those that emerge from the jungle and its habitat. It’s unbelievably peaceful, quiet and serene making it the perfect place for a completely relaxing vacation.
  • Once the sun goes down, your eyes will automatically move towards the star lit sky or the million fireflies that make you want to give up the city life!
  • The chef has magic in his fingers! Regardless of which cuisine you’re served, we assure you, you’ll love it!

What to know

  • Internet connectivity is limited. You may not be able to do much beyond checking emails. Phone connectivity too is limited. You may have to find sweet spots where the signal strength is better.
  • For when you look for ways to spend time, there’s a library full of interesting wildlife books, DVDs , a pool table and a warm swimming pool where lazy afternoons can be spent.
  • There are frequent power cuts throughout the day. A gen-set however powers electricity during this period of load shedding.
  • The closest market is at least 40 minutes away. Plan well and carry whatever you need during the stay with you.
  • Make sure you carry sunglasses, hats, comfortable walking shoes and binoculars for the exciting game drives.

Bandhavgarh National Park

Bandhavgarh National Park, located in Madhya Pradesh is famed to have the highest density of tigers in India. The park is located in the Vindhya Hills of Umaria district and has derived its name from a prominent hillock in the region. The park also holds the largest breeding population of leopards and various species of deer. This tiger reserve is also densely populated with other animals such as the Indian bison which is on the verge of extinction, barking deer, nilgai hyena, caracal, cheetal and the spotted deer. Legend goes that the Maharaja of Rewa also captured the first white tiger in this region in 1951.

Bandhavgarh National Park consists of mixed vegetations ranging from tall grasslands to thick Sal forests and dense bamboo thickets. The drives through this park are very exciting and full of action regardless of what time you decide to go.

The park is divided into three major zones named as Tala, Magdhi and Khitauli. Tala is known to be the richest and most popular zone in terms of tiger density. However, there’s no certainty of spotting of tiger here and hence we highly recommend doing drives across the different zones to really enjoy this park.

Best time to visit: November to April

Closed: 1 July to 15 October

Tribal Village Walk

The tribal villages that surround the lush green forests will leave you amazed. Almost all the mud huts are painted blue as the tribes believe in just Lord Shiva, the God who consumed poison that turned his throat blue.

The villages are immaculately clean and beautiful as are the people who reside in them. Each tribe has a unique tattoo design that can be seen on every member typically on the head, arms and legs.

Take a guided walk down any one of these villages and we assure you, it’ll leave a tattoo on your mind as well. Both men and women leave for work early on in the day, so do rise and shine early if you want to have a quick chat with them!
