GREAT FOR

Those looking for a relaxing and peaceful vacation in the hills while exploring the tea estates of Kerala, will find this place to be perfect. Specially good for a group of 8 to 10 friends/ family.

What we love

  • All you need is a hot cup of tea just as you arrive to make this cottage, that dates back to the early 19th century, your cosy home away from home. Snuggled in the midst of tea plantations, as far as the eyes can see, this charming cottage with its generous verandahs, living areas and manicured gardens with age old trees, is the perfect escape for those looking to be in the lap of nature.
  • The four bedrooms, on either side of the corridor, are furnished tastefully in subtle hues and reek of charm and colonial opulence. Antique solid wood furniture, warm lampshades, windows framed beautifully by soft coloured curtains - all add to the elegance of the bedrooms. The ensuite luxurious bathrooms come with free standing tubs, perfect for long languid soaks.
  • The pace of life beautifully slows down to one that still exists in the countryside, blissfully devoid of many addictive distractions. Here, you get a chance to slip into the lifestyle of a planter with a difference of no work and all play, wink wink. While at the cottage, read, meditate, have lots of cups of tea, chit chat with those you’re with, and if you’d like to just speeden up the pace a tad bit, visit the planter’s club for a game of badminton, tennis, billiards or snooker.

What to know

  • The postcard perfect rolling hills are where you can go on truly immersive tea plantation walks, exchanging furtive glances with curious tea pickers along the way. Learn the art of picking tea leaves that travel all the way from the gardens to your cuppa, making you start your morning afresh or recharging you through the day! The adventurous can go further afield to the watering holes of the animals from the sanctuary, listing to engaging stories of the fight between man and wild.
  • Sometimes not really deciding on what you’d like for your next meal can be a blessing in disguise! Here, you’ll be served an array of local dishes, each an exotic flavour for the taste buds and the recipes that you’ll want to take back home! Kerala with its spices is a foodie’s haven and we highly recommend sampling the best the state has to offer by allowing the chef to make your food decisions for you. Of course, if you have any preferences or dietary constraints, you may notify him and they’ll be taken care of.
  • Words cannot describe the joy of sitting by a bonfire under the canopy of a starlit sky while tantalising vegetables and meat roll in from the barbecue set up out in the lawns. Don’t miss out on this experience!
