GREAT FOR

Perfect place to experience the backwaters where luxury, heritage and beauty are woven together immaculately! Magical place for all types of travelers!

What we love

  • The traditional architecture of the villas. Each room/villa has either a private pool, jacuzzi or is connected to the meandering pool; a huge lagoon-like body of water that’s utterly clean and safe to swim in.
  • The food alone is worth travelling here for! Whether it’s the authentic Kerala cuisine, fresh seafood, or the scrummy selection of pickles, this place is a haven for foodies.

What to know

  • Each cottage and villa pertains to a traditional style of the illams (homesteads) and has its own unique history. The cottages have been painstakingly taken from various villages in Kerala and transplanted here.
  • At about 4pm each day, a young Keralan man wearing a traditional lungi sets up his cart, switches on an old Murphy Radio, cleans the glasses and begins preparing the evening tea and snacks. Where else will you see such a sight?
  • If you’re bringing children along, opt for the luxury pavilion rooms. These are particularly spacious. Oh, the bathrooms have a private jacuzzi too!

Into the backwaters of Kerala

Cruise on the secluded backwaters in houseboats converted from rice boats. Take a glimpse into the lives of the locals - children splashing and swimming in the waters, women washing clothes, men sitting on the banks of the canals and fishing. The experience is enchanting and extremely peaceful to say the very least.

Black gold of the past

This spice put India on the world map and made many figure out a route to India! It was so valuable that even rent could be paid using peppercorns, giving rise to a term called “peppercorn rent”. Don’t you wish you could still do that? :)

This spice is frequently used to improve digestion other than seasoning all that exotic food ofcourse.
