The perfect place for family reunions or a group of friends looking for a relaxed vacation in seclusion yet close to the beachfront, local markets and restaurants that North Goa is known for.

What we love

  • This heritage villa, replete with Portuguese furniture, was built almost a century ago, on the then untouched Calangute beach. Today, despite the crowded adjoining areas, the villa feels like an oasis of tranquility. The villa initially served as the family’s holiday home who came to Goa to escape the harsh winters of London, but in the course of the last decade, with great effort, the majestic property was restored to its former glory coupled with modern amenities, opening it’s doors to guests from the world over.
  • The villa houses six bedrooms, each large and with it’s own ensuite bathroom. Four rooms come with four poster beds, artistic hand-painted tiles and antique furniture and are in the main house, while two bedrooms, contemporary in style, are in the beach house besides the pool area - a favourite amongst most guests!
  • The swimming pool rests in the shade of tall coconut trees and you’ll love spending lazy hours in and by the pool or swinging on the hammock. Slip into the relaxed tropical beach mode, walk to the beach, which is just 5 minutes away, or sunbathe on one of the many loungers by the pool, while occasionally sipping on a cold pint of kingfisher beer.

What to know

  • We loved the dining area by the poolside where everyone can sit together and savour a well cooked meal. From salads, Goan curries, seafood to even barbecue - if you’re not in the mood to step out, the experience of dining in will be just as good if not better!
  • The villa’s terrace has a lovely sit out area from where you can watch some of the prettiest sunsets. Do this on one of the days for sure!
  • Should you wish to be part of all the touristic action, walk just about 5 minutes and you’ll hit a range of restaurants, shops as well as the beachfront, dotted with beach shacks offering incredible local coastal cuisine!
  • On request, massages can be arranged at the villa. You could also explore the shy side of Goa - spice plantations, visits to waterfalls local markets, villages and churches etc, while here. Let the manager know in advance of your interests and the necessary will be made. The ever smiling and helpful staff will attend to all your needs the minute they’re voiced and make the villa feel like home.

Anjuna Flea Market

On Wednesdays from 8am to 7pm

Months: October to May

The market started in the 1970s when the hippies who had descended on the land of Goa from the Western world wished to stay longer but couldn’t afford to do so. They began bartering and then eventually selling their goodies in exchange of money and thus began the famous Anjuna Flea Market.

Saunter in looking for a bargain but walk out with an experience gained. Get past the local vendors, spot the artist and designer shops and find that bargain - pixie shoes, cosmic jewelry, red leather jackets, abstract art or even miniature stringed instruments! Haggle hard and be prepared for the onslaught! The market is a visual spectacle that must not be missed!
