Anjuna Flea Market

On Wednesdays from 8am to 7pm

Months: October to May

The market started in the 1970s when the hippies who had descended on the land of Goa from the Western world wished to stay longer but couldn’t afford to do so. They began bartering and then eventually selling their goodies in exchange of money and thus began the famous Anjuna Flea Market.

Saunter in looking for a bargain but walk out with an experience gained. Get past the local vendors, spot the artist and designer shops and find that bargain - pixie shoes, cosmic jewelry, red leather jackets, abstract art or even miniature stringed instruments! Haggle hard and be prepared for the onslaught! The market is a visual spectacle that must not be missed!

Fort Tiracol

Built in the 17th century and once occupied by the Portuguese, Tiracol Fort, situated right at the Northen tip of Goa, now houses a chapel, a luxury hotel, and a small but rather charming restaurant. We highly recommend visiting this fort for its commanding views of the Arabian sea and the virgin beaches of Goa.

It’s a bit of a journey to get there but worth all the time and effort. You will need your own vehicle to get upto Querim and then take a ferry. (Ferries don’t ply post 6-7pm).

You can make a reservation at Fort Tiracol if you wish to stay here. They have 7 designer rooms named after days of the week and painted in shades of ochre and white, lending a rather earthy feel to the place. Just ensure you guys aren’t the only ones in the fort. Could be really really spooky!
